WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!

So tonight Chase proposed! I was taken by total surprise! We are both leaving for our home towns for Christmas so we decided to exchange presents tonight. So Chase came over and we opened presents and after opening them Chase wanted to put in a Christmas movie. He went upstairs and picked out a movie and brought it back downstairs. I was sitting on the couch as he put the movie in and all of a sudden one of our songs came on "all cause of you" by the 88's and he made a DVD of pictures of him growing up with little captions and then pictures of me growing up with captions (my mom emailed Chase the pictures way back in October!) and then pictures of us dating and at the end it said Dana, will you marry me and he got down on his knee and proposed! It was amazing I was crying and could not even get words the word yes out of my mouth! Chase was like "did you say yes yet?" and gave me a dozen beautiful red roses!! I could not be happier right now. I am so lucky to have found Chase and cant wait to spend the rest of my life with him!!!! sorry for not being so cute in these pictures but i did not know that I was going to be proposed to!!!! enjoy!

whats for dinner?

I have been trying this new thing where I cook different recipes at least once a week that i have never ate or cooked before. I have just wanted to try new things to see what I like and lucky enough for me Chase will eat anything! He has been such a sport going through this with me :) But I have to say last night was a hit! My roommate told me about this chicken with Dr. Pepper in it. It sounded so gross but Chase loves Dr. Pepper so i thought I would try it. I loved it! the chicken was so moist! It was sweet, had a little kick to it and was oh so yummy! I made it with rolls and dipped the rolls in the extra sauce.. you all need to make it!

1 C. BBQ sauce.. any kind you like...
1 C. Dr.Pepper
1 T. brown sugar
Salt and Pepper
4-6 Boneless skinless chicken breast

thaw chicken sprinkle to taste with salt and pepper put in 9 by 13 pan.
mix BBQ sauce and Dr. Pepper pour on top of chicken and sprinkle brown sugar on top. Cook at 350 for one hour... enjoy!

Winter Wonderland

Well it finally snowed! I woke up Saturday morning and there was at least three feet of snow outside. I was so excited! I just love the snow. I called Chase to tell him the exciting news and he did not seem as thrilled as me haha. So I went downstairs blared Christmas music and drank hot apple cider.. it was the best. Chase and I decided that it would be so pretty to go to Temple Square so we invited our friends Rebekah and Nick to come with us. It was such a pretty night, I loved all the snow on the trees even though it was FREEZING it was worth it. We then had a Gingerbread decoration party.. it was actually a lot harder then it looks! I was having a really hard time getting my house to stay up. It's sad to admit this but Chase's turned out a lot better then mine. I love this time of the year.. it is my favorite. Just looking outside at the snow and all the decorations and lights makes me so happy.. Happy Holidays!

2. Walks on the beach with my Dad and Sister ( we have done this every year on the day of Thanksgiving since i can remember)
3. My mom's homemade rolls with her homemade Strawberry Jam
4. Eating Left overs
5. and the best one is..You can eat all the food you want and not feel guilty because everyone is doing it!
I went home to California for Thanksgiving and had an amazing time while Chase went to New Mexico to visit his family for the Holidays. We both had a great time but since I am the only one who actually takes pictures I will be posting the ones from my trip home.

Weekend of Fun

This last weekend I went home to California for my friend Chelcie's bridal shower. It just so happened that when I went home my dad came to Utah for the BYU game. I was sad because i did not get to see him but Chase kept him company. My dad went to Chase's football game Friday night and said that Chase made the best catch he has ever seen a non pro football player make! It made me sad that I was not there to witness this amazing catch, but it did leave quite a mark on Chase's hip. The next day my dad took Chase and two of Chase's friends to the football game..nothing like male bonding :) While Chase was doing all his boy stuff I was busy in California decorating and cooking for the shower. The shower was beautiful! My Mom and I made chocolate dip strawberries and fruit sticks... they were yummy! Here is my sister Lori, Chelcie, and I at the shower... My favorite girls...Sunday night before I flew back to Utah we had all the family over for dinner. I love them so much! My little nephews are the cutest things ever! Luke is such a chunky monkey i love it! Here is a video of Joshua at the dinner table. He made everyone go around and make a witch laugh and if you did not do a good one he would say "your witch is not working!" it was so funny (Loris was by far the best witch laugh). He also has this new thing that when you ask him to do something he says " I cant I'm Busy" I wonder where he gets that from Brooke:) I just love family!

*Witchy Women*

My Roommates and I decided that we should create a night for just us girls, so we created a witch night. We decorated our whole house, made soup and dessert, and even had a pot of magical potion! It was so much fun! Its always fun having a night of girls, games, and dressing up! My friend Rebekah had the cutest outfit of all! She is 4 months pregnant and over her belly she made a sign saying "Goblin on the Way"

Game Day and Pumpkin Carving

It was freezing at the BYU game on Saturday but Chase and I are real troopers! It was raining most of the game but then towards the end of the third quarter is started snowing! I now remember the one thing i do not like about the winter... the cold... but Chase let me wear one of his gloves and we brought ponchos so it kept us dry.. all i have to say is that we are true fans for sitting through that weather! After the game we got all warm again and had some friends over to carve pumpkins. We cooked all the seeds and ate them, they were amazing! i have to say Chase's and Perris' pumpkin's were pretty scary while me and Lisa went for the more "cute" look.

*Creppy Crawlers*

I love October because it gives me an excuse to get scared! If you know me i get scared pretty easily, so this time of month im always in the mood for scary movies, haunted houses, and scary stories. Chase and I went to a haunted house last week.. it was his fist time ever going in one.. but sad to say it was not that great of a haunted house so we are going to a different one next week so he can see how cool they really are! Another thing i love about October is that it gives me an excuse to watch the movie Hocus Pocus... haha i know its cheesy but i just love it!

So i have a story about something that happened in our house a couple weeks ago.. me and my roommate were in our garage and we saw this big black thing and then i realized it was a tarantula in our garage! it freaked us out! my roommate then got in her car and ran it over to kill it, it was kind of funny. So we got our house sprayed but just yesterday we found another one by our window! I love our house but its not fun being the closest house to the mountain because then all the bugs come to our house! Here is a picture i took with my phone... So now i always make chase look around to make sure there are no spiders before i go to bed!
